Huddleston Floodway
Earlier this year, Neo Infrastructure (SA) delivered the Huddleston Floodway for the Northern Areas Council.
The project, located on the Huddleston to Georgetown Road (an important thoroughfare and freight route), was awarded to Neo as a result of submitting a competitive bid and on the back of the recent successful delivery of over 55 new floodways in the mid north region.
The project provided many challenges that Neo had to overcome inclusive of extensive dewatering including managing the discharge from underground springs, dealing with and working in thick river mud and silt accumulation, piling to rock and minimising any damage to the ecological footprint of the watercourse and its surrounds.
Construction included the pile supported low flow culvert structure, 525m2 reinforced concrete deck, concrete cut out kerbing, rock protection, signage and approach roadworks.
Another project showcasing Neo’s capabilities and commitment to delivering infrastructure in the regional areas of the state.
