The northern regional area of South Australia suffered much damage to road network infrastructure during the extreme weather event experienced in September 2016. Over 50km of unsealed road network throughout the Port Pirie Council region required rehabilitation and Neo were contracted to undertake the works. To meet the program commitment, Neo engaged two fulltime roadwork crews and a pit extraction crew to meet the resheeting material demand. Neo drew on its own in-house geotechnical capability to deliver the best methodology for extraction and placement and utilised the companies grid rollers in conjunction with our static combination rollers (steel drum / multi tyred), vibratory rollers and watercarts to place and compact the material.

• 50 km of subgrade preparation
• 420,000 m2 of road resheeting
• 115,000 tonnes of material extraction and cartage form various pits within the shire
• Construction of swale drains and cut off drains
• Borrow pit rehabilitation works
• Geometry and compaction testing
